| WHE personnel have worked extensively in remediating (in-situ and ex-situ) impacted soil and groundwater at Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) sites. WHE personnel have also worked extensively in remediating soil through excavation, treatment, and backfill at numerous Mississippi Department of Transportation and Development (MDOT) sites. WHE has successfully provided excavation, transportation, and disposal of impacted soils and materials for numerous clients.
WHE has successfully performed in-situ treatment of impacted soils using biotreatment technology, as well as, in-situ and ex-situ groundwater remediation using single and dual phase extraction systems. WHE offers complete installation, operation, and maintenance services to these extraction systems.
WHE has successfully remediated numerous sites impacted with various organic, inorganic, and metal constituents. WHE’s remediation capabilities include solidification/stabilization, land treatment (biological), clay capping, in-situ and ex-situ single and dual phase extraction systems, etc.
Environmental Drilling Services
WHE has a staff of project managers and field professionals that specialize in providing environmental and geotechnical drilling services, including monitoring well installation, water well installation, soil sampling, aquifer testing, groundwater remediation system installation, and pump installation, operation, and maintenance. WHE has several drill rigs equipped for typical drilling techniques, such as, wet rotary, hollowstem auger, and direct push technology (Geoprobe®), to assist in specialized subsurface investigations. Each hollowstem auger drill rig is also equipped for conversion into wet rotary techniques which allows WHE clients the option to continue drilling operations when hollowstem augering is no longer feasible.
Each hollowstem auger and wet rotary rig is equipped with shelby tube and split spoon sampling devices for environmental and geotechnical purposes. Currently, WHE is licensed as Water Well Contractors by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), the Arkansas Water Well Construction Commission (AWWCC), the Northwest Florida Water Management District, the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB).
WHE’s staff has provided drilling services for numerous ADEM, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), and MDEQ groundwater protection Trust Fund projects, RCRA and CERCLA facility investigations, and United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund sites in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. In addition, WHE has worked extensively on geotechnical investigations for road, bridge, and building construction, as well as, hydrogeological investigations at solid waste landfills.
